Disco

I met this young lady a few weeks ago. I was intrigued by this cobalt blue, bell-bottomed, halte-top onsie. To top it off, those glitter gold high heels were impressive.

Duck Sauce!!!

Myself accompanied with toy duck bill.
Joseph, jammin'.

This was the most chaotic, lively, dangerous, exciting, and energy absorbing shows I have ever been to in my life. Giant ducks with letterman jackets were inflated. Toy duck bills were thrown into the crowd. People sat upon floatation devices while simultaneously crowd surfing. A girls tooth was knocked out.

Were me and cohort, Joseph Newman scared?
Yes.
Could we have been badly hurt?
Yes.
Would we do it again?
DOES A DUCK QUACK???!!!!!

Ryan Leslie Video

This is the first verse of Ryan Leslie's "addicted" single. Please pardon the instability...its not easy shooting and jamming at the same time.

Ryan Leslie

Love this linen shirt. It was so appropriate at the the time as it was well over 90 degrees. His performance was great and he exhibited humility, which is very rare in entertainment. I find that he one our most underrated acts today. Great musician. The video comes later today.

The Monopoly Man Mustache

I saw many a mustache at the festival but this one took the cake...got the blue ribbon...stole the show...etc.

Im not sure how a one achieves the "monopoly man" mustache but its admirable.

Powder Blue

I walked into D-Town Burger (in downtown LA off 8th st) and this woman walked in with these heels. There's no single element to these heels that grab my attention. I just dig their shape. The contrast between the upper and the sole give them a nice touch.

I asked her for permission to photograph her heels. After she obliged, she told me they were 'Stella McCartneys'. You may not be familiar with the brand but they are well known for women's shoes.

P.S. She is the author of a great food blog called 'EAT ME MIKKI!'

Brown Hat

I didn't snatch this off his head because I respect my elders. If he were some young whippersnapper, this hat would be in my closet right now.

Sweet Disposition

I met this young lady at the Coachella festival. I noticed her wandering by herself and could not help but admire her simplicity. Most of the women there were half naked, leaving little to the imagination (to their defense, it was hotter than hell). She was very kind and had such a sweet disposition.

Peace be unto you.

I live in an area highly congested with homelessness and panhandling. In all honesty, I am always reluctant to give spare change. Im a struggling college student and I hate giving money away. Especially unexpectedly, no matter how small the sum. I am always skeptical of the homeless men and women and how they will use the funds they raise by asking on the street. To put it plainly, I fear they will use it on drugs. This is not always the case.

Weeks ago I went to get myself a beef bowl and a man was standing in there with a helpless and pitiful look on his face. It broke my heart to look at him. I was compelled. He looked at me and said, "'scuse me sir, can you help me out? i just need some food to bring back to my family at home. Ill take anything. Food will be just fine." I gave him 3 dollars. Thats the highest sum of money I had ever given voluntarily aside from church services. Him specifying that money was not he only thing that could help him is what compelled me.

Weeks later I saw the same man asking a college kid for money and ask me directly afterward. I was highly irritated! I gave him a few bucks and promised myself that was that man's last. The buck stopped there. PUN INTENDED.

The gentleman you see in the photo may very well be no better off than the aforementioned poor man. However, there is a level of dignity, respect, and discipline that separates the two. You see, this man wants to raise funds just like the poor man. But he realizes and respects the rules of trade. He knows better than to expect something for nothing. I would gladly purchase bean pies from this man. Gladly and proudly.
